I DID own the big album from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones in the 90s but at best it was a friendly curiosity.

The late 70s two-tone movement in the UK was much much better BUT devolved into Brit Pop after only 1-2 albums from the leading groups of that movement.

Just stop being an American sycophant and go back to the original... he was so good that the Beatles stole Obl-di-obla-da from him

I agree. Ska only really worked for me when it was performed by former jazz musicians in primitive 1960s Jamaican studios. It’s a travesty that people only heard the Blondie version of “The Tide is High.”

But actually “Ob-la-do Ob-la-da” was a catch phrase coined by Speedy Acquaye, the African bongo player in Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames. Paul stole it from him and then later paid his immigration legal bills to make up for it.
