US Strikes Iran
« on: »
Trump has gone into Iran, seems like airstrikes.

Reportedly the general's advised against it.

I think this is pretty clearly an attempt to improve his approval. Politically.

I don't see an exit strategy.

But that doesn't mean this will fail either.

I've no objection to Mullahs and Ayatollahs and the Revolutionary Guard being killed, but when he tells the Iranian people that this is their chance, their last chance for generations, he's just feeding them into a grinder.

His own people have told him this is unsustainable.  It's not like Iran weren't listening.

Israel bombed two elementary schools today including one for girls, killing 50.

Folks say Trump isn’t a typical Republican but destroying the economy and starting a bullshit war in the Middle East for no reason are pretty much the only things that republican presidents do.

"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses its rejection and condemnation in the strongest terms of the blatant and cowardly Iranian attacks that targeted the Riyadh region and the Eastern region and were repelled, attacks that cannot be justified under any pretext or in any way, and which came despite the knowledge of the Iranian authorities that the Kingdom has affirmed that it will not allow its airspace or territory to be used to target Iran."

Presumably the Revolutionary Guard will be in control of the government now and that’s how it will stay once the U.S. get2 bored goes looking for someone else to bomb.

Maybe someone high up in the IRGC will prove to be something other than a religious fruitcake.

Can't be any worse.

Exactly.  Even if the only reason is self preservation.

It’s an Islamic republic in which the head of state is also the highest religious figure, what are you expecting to change here?

Probably nothing.  I do live in hope, though.

It’s interesting to see people of Iran and Israel both celebrating the same thing.
